Damen hands over Trojan workhorse to Leask Marine

The Multi Cat (MuC) 3113 has been built using a proven Damen stock hull, adapted for Leask, which is based in the remote Scottish islands of Orkney.

Leask operates a fleet of vessels equipped with in-house designed and fabricated tools and equipment for a wide range of operations including marine construction, towage, salvage, diving and ROV operations.

The MuC 3113 is designed to support a range of marine sectors worldwide, including offshore wind and horizontal drilling, PLGR (Pre-Lay Grapnel Run) clearance, subsea cable landings, wave and tidal energy projects, dredging, marine construction and towage operations

The vessel is also equipped with a a DP1 dynamic positioning system and four-point mooring system to provide positional stability in varying marine conditions.

According to Damen, the general arrangement has been modified to create a clear separation between working and accommodation areas, a design change intended to support crew welfare during extended deployments.

The vessel follows the operator’s earlier acquisition of a Damen MuC 2712, C-Force, which was delivered in 2021 under Damen’s stock building programme six weeks after contract signing.
