First Car Carrier Arrives on Humber
The ever expanding Humber Sea Terminal (HST) has added a car carrier to its list of clients with the arrival of a vessel operated by Eukor Car Carriers transporting some 2,500 cars from a major producer in the Far East.
With approximately 40 sailings per week, further expansion is planned at HST with the addition of two more berths at a development cost of £25m.
The arrival of the first deep sea car carrier on the Humber paves the way for other similar opportunities by providing car importers with a direct gateway to the Midlands and North of the UK for the first time.
Humber Sea Terminal managing director Eddie Freeman said, 'Growth projections for the Humber are very encouraging and at HST we are providing the right infrastructure to sustain both our ambitions and those of our present and future clients.'
