Netherlands-headquartered Royal IHC and Tompkins UK Ltd have increased their strategic cooperation with IHC acquiring a majority stake in Tompkins.

Tompkins is the parent company of Modus Seabed Intervention and a partner in the TI Geosciences joint venture which IHC and Tompkins created last year.

Modus is a specialist provider of remote and autonomous technologies for subsea and seabed intervention. It has industry-leading capabilities in ROV services and currently has a fleet of work lass ROVs and AUVs that are used in construction and drilling support operations as well as in survey and inspection activities.

With its fleet of trenching ROVs and systems, Modus also offers seabed intervention solutions in cable and pipeline trenching plus seabed earthmoving. Modus is also investing in advanced disruptive hybrid AUVs, which will allow it to move into new market segments.
