Seawork in for some Parker ribbing
Parker Ribs’ UK distributor AH Parker & Sons (GB) Ltd will be exhibiting at Berth 3 on the floating pontoon at Seawork 2009.
On show will be a Parker 900 Baltic ‘SeaSafari’ RIB with twin Mercury Optimax 225 outboard engines. The 14 seater passenger carrying rib will be available for demonstration runs on Southampton Water.
In addition to Seawork, more good news from Parker is that they have just completed the delivery of several 9m Baltic ribs for a Coastal Protection Force in operation in the Arabian Gulf.
Many petrochemical installations can be found along the shores of the Arabian Gulf. This industry is of critical importance to the strategic development and continued growth of national economies. Governments around the world have recognised the need for specialised security units to protect them and are employing the skills of specialised companies to advise them how to do this.
Security training company Lynecus Ltd is currently training and managing the Coastal Protection Force engaged in providing maritime security for the same petrochemical installation area in the Arabian Gulf. They have been using the Parker 900 Baltic RIBs and several have been employed on operational duties since September 2008.
Each rib is fitted with twin Mercury Optimax outboard motors, a wide and spacious two man console, radio and navigation equipment, jockey seats for a four man crew which is protected from the sun when seated by a fixed T top bimini arrangement.
The Parker 900 Baltic RIB is manufactured in Poland by Parker Ribs. The Parker Baltic’s wide beam, huge buoyancy tubes and deep flared hull make it well suited for load carrying, powered by twin outboards of up to 600hp or twin diesel stern/jet drive units with up to 700hp.
