Artemis was created to detect both live and dead subsea cables and pipelines at extreme depths in real-time. Through these new rent agreements, customers will now be able to hire Artemis Active systems to improve their operations, from surveys to maintenance.

“By partnering with RTS and Seatronics, customers can now access our cutting-edge subsea detection technology without the need for significant upfront investment associated with ownership. We hope this will provide flexibility and cost-effectiveness in their operations,” said Lindsay Smith, business development manager for new technology at SMD.

“We now have a panel of two global suppliers which will make Artemis more accessible to a wider range of customers by offering a range of leasing options.”

Improved access

Through these new rental partnerships, SMD is both looking to strengthen its position as a leader in underwater robotics while reinforcing its dedication to customers and allowing them easier access to Artemis underwater technology.

“We are delighted to be working with SMD to deliver Artemis to the market through our global leasing services based in Aberdeen, Singapore, Houston and Abu Dhabi,” said Brian Pritchard, UK regional manager at Seatronics.

“This partnership reflects our dedication to providing our customers with cutting-edge solutions that drive efficiency and performance in their subsea projects.”

Artemis is available in two different modes of operation, Passive or Active. Artemis Passive system is used when there is a residual signal, whether this be from live transmission or toned.

Meanwhile, Artemis Active system is utilised when the tone needs inducing locally, i.e. unpowered or dead products.
