Teledyne unveils revolutionary seismic streamer
Teledyne Geophysical Instruments, a division of Teledyne Marine, has launched a new seismic streamer designed to meet the rising demands of ultra-high-resolution offshore surveys.
Developed in collaboration with Geometrics, eXtreamer is optimised for challenging environments such as offshore wind farms, CCS sites, oil & gas fields and geotechnical assessments, offering faster deployment, reduced downtime and scalability.
“eXtreamer is a great example of state-of-the-art engineering that provides true value and ROI,” said Holli Sims, vice president and general manager of Teledyne Geophysical Instruments. “Everything leads to the clarity and precision of data and flexibility of operations that the industry has been looking for.”
Unlike legacy streamers, eXtreamer accommodates high-density channel spacing and bandwidth needs, delivering industry-leading data quality. Its gel-filled design allows for both compact and large-scale configurations, ideal for 2D, 3D and even P-Cable surveys.
“eXtreamer isn’t just a tool – it’s a competitive advantage,” added Bart Hoekstra, president of Geometrics. “We engineered it for exceptional durability and ultra-high resolution, empowering our clients to reduce survey time by acquiring HR and UHR data simultaneously with high fidelity.”
The system’s modular approach also allows users to split a single large system into smaller, independent units, cutting costs and improving logistical efficiency across multiple projects.
