Brabo brings Artemis Technologies boat into fleet
An Artemis Technologies pilot boat will start work at one of the busiest ports in the world.
Brabo, whose core operations are providing pilot and port services at Antwerp, Belgium, has signed a deal with the company for an Artemis EF-12 pilot boat.
The foiling vessel is fully electric and has been designed ’with input from pilotage service operators around the globe’, says Artemis Technologies.
The company says the vessel has an advanced active flight control system and minimises wake because of its foils, which lift it above the water once it reaches around 13 knots.
Brabo and Artemis Technologies began discussing the vessel two years ago, says Brabo.
In 2022 Artemis Technologies scooped both the Vessel Build & Design and Spirit of Innovation awards at Seawork, the commercial marine exhibition and conference that celebrated its silver anniversary this year.
At last year’s International Shipping Week, its 100% electric foiling workboat Pioneer of Belfast was launched on the River Thames.
