European tug operators call for ‘strategic industry’ status
Amid rising geopolitical tensions, cyber threats and the need to safeguard critical infrastructure, the European Tug Association (ETA) is calling for tugs to be classed as a strategic industry.
Their role, the ETA says, extends far beyond moving ships safely in and out of port: they are in fact an essential component of national and regional emergency preparedness.
