AF Decom and Port of Lerwick to develop decommissioning base – by David Foxwell

AF Decom Offshore UK Limited, a subsidiary of AF Gruppen in Norway, and Lerwick Port Authority in the UK have announced that they have entered into an Exclusivity Agreement with the intention of developing a deep water quay facility at Dales Voe, Lerwick, Shetland.

AF Decom and Port of Lerwick are to developed a decommissioning facility at the port.

Together, the two companies aim to develop a decommissioning centre capable of meeting the growing UK requirement for the decommissioning of major structures located in the Northern North Sea.
