Artificial island proposed for Turkmenistan
Dutch company Van Oord has proposed construction of an artificial island in the Caspian Sea near the resort of Avaz in Turkmenistan, as its area manager Johannes Hafkenscheid said in an interview with a local newspaper.
“We have proposed a project for an artificial island in the Caspian Sea on the coast of Avaza. The island would have the contours of the Turkmen national emblem, with a further possible construction of buildings.
“As the world’s population increases, many countries need more space for housing, trade, production and recreation. And we are pleased that our company today has become a party to all of the tremendous changes in the construction industry, which occur in Turkmenistan.”
Turkmenistan has announced a series of international tenders for the construction of facilities and structures designed for tourism, sports, recreation, health, and other purposes
