Second WFSV for Tidal Transit
The second of Tidal Transit Ltds windfarm service vessels (WFSV), Eden Rose, has just been launched by Spanish shipbuilder Mercurio Plastics – and it will be on display at Seawork International next month.
MJ announced last month that sister vessel, the Ginny Louise, has already gone into operation at the Greater Gabbard windfarm off the UK’s Suffolk coast following its recent delivery to its new owners.
Like its sister, the Eden Rose is a state of the art designed vessel for the planning, development and construction of offshore windfarms in the Greater Wash and southern North Sea.
Eden Rose is currently on its way to the UK and is expected to arrive on 18 April. The vessel will complete its first charter for RES Offshore servicing meteorological masts before making its way to Seawork International next month.
Leo Hambro, Tidal Transit’s commercial director, has high aspirations for the expanding fleet. He said: “I believe that the constantly increasing demand will quickly enable us to expand our fleet by a further eight vessels during the next two years.”
Eden Rose is built to the same spec as Ginny Louise – MCA Cat 1 coding and 10,000 litre fuel tanks allows the vessel to work up to 150 miles offshore, well within the range of the UK’s imminent Round 3 offshore windfarms.
