Ormen Lange field contract for Reef Subsea
Reef Subsea has been awarded contract by Norske Shell for dredging in the Ormen Lange field. The company will use its newly-built Scanmachine 4 excavator to carry out the work. The objective is to perform final seabed preparation for a pipelay project, with narrow tolerances (+/- 20cm) and a curved route to follow.
The dredging and rectification work will be undertaken for the Mid-North Field on Ormen Lange in a water depth of about 950m, where the seabed is uneven and mainly composed of hard clay.
The contract also includes an option for similar work to be undertaken for the Ormen Lange Further North development.
