Finnish and Swedish contracts for MMT
MMT of Gothenburg, which is currently completing cable route studies for a 711km transmission link between Norway and the UK, has been awarded parts of two separate survey contracts for the EU financed Monalisa Motorways of the Sea project for the Finnish Transport Agency (FTA) and Sweden’s Maritime Agency (SMA).
Beginning this month, work involves detailed multibeam surveys of sectors of the Baltic Sea and the Bay of Bothnia using a Kongsberg EM2040D multibeam echosounder for determining efficient routing and safe navigation for all types of shipping, particularly deep draught versions. Results will be used for updating nautical charts and associated navigational publications.
