Geo Plus extends vessel fleet

Geo Plus of Scheemda in northern Holland has extended its fleet of survey vessels with the commissioning of a seventh designed for continuous 24 hour operation over periods of up to two weeks, Geo Focus.

The 35m diesel-electric craft, which features reduced carbon emissions and holds a Lloyds Register green passport, accommodates 18 specialist personnel and is capable of a wide range of offshore ventures. Onboard equipment comprises Kongsberg EM2040 multibeam and EA400 single beam sounders as well as Hipap 501 USBL positioning, a Reson SVIP 14/15 sound velocity probe and an Ixsea Hydrins 3 inertial navigation system. There is also an A-frame and 600mm moon pool, providing tools for sampling or ROV operations.

Geo Plus specialises in providing hydrographic and geodetic services both nationally and worldwide on behalf of governments, port authorities, public works and the offshore dredging industry. Apart from work off the Dutch coast, it has contributed to major survey projects in Africa, Iraq, Italy, Russia, Surinam and the UK.
