New Fugro survey vessel
Dutch survey group Fugro has added to its global vessel replacement programme with the recent launch of a third dedicated ship for offshore survey projects in Asia-Pacific waters, Fugro Equator.
Built by Oakwell Shipbuilding & Construction in Singapore and designed to be specifically fuel efficient and acoustically quiet, the 65m long vessel is now permanently mobilised for geophysical and hydrographic survey operations in readiness for a full range of site and route survey tasks. When needed, a Hugin 1000 AUV for deep water site investigations can also be rapidly deployed.
Onboard survey equipment includes Kongsberg EM302 and EM2040 multibeam sounders and Valeport sound velocity probes together with dual GeoAcoustic and Edgetech sidescan sonars. En-suite accommodation is available for up to 42 personnel.
