Marine approved display
Norwegian developer of maritime display solutions, North Invent, is expanding its portfolio of maritime displays with the introduction of the new Wave XL 46” multitouch monitor. The Wave XL is the first of its kind to pass the demanding IEC 60945 approval, allowing it to be mounted on the bridge as part of mission critical systems. It is suitable for any marine application such as digital route planning, radar, ECDIS, conning etc.
The 10 point infrared multitouch technology, combined with a hardened antiglare glass, according to North Invent, enables a seamless operation and a perfectly clear view in all lighting conditions. Wave XL offers the same intuitive and user-friendly operation as the iPad, superseding it with a large 46” display. The monitor’s ability for a split screen view will allow two people to operate the monitor simultaneously.
“Designing the Wave XL started as a cooperation with a trusted partner aiming to replace paper-based planning charts on board vessels,” said Øyvind Kalstø Johansen, CEO of North Invent.
The monitor is equipped with a variety of mounting options and extensive interface features met by marine standards. It introduces a completely new workflow on the bridge by digitalising remaining manual procedures and combining information previously shown on small monitors into a larger format.
