Lloyds approves Lloyds

Birmingham, UK-based international lifting equipment specialist Lloyds British have received Lloyds Register Approval as an independent service provider for the Examination and Testing of Lifeboat, Rescue Boat and Liferaft launching appliances, along with surveying, servicing, and testing of lifting appliances in accordance with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) MSC.1/Circ.1277; MSC.1/Circ.1206 and SOLAS.

As stated by the IMO; Administrations such as Lloyds Register should ensure that the thorough examinations and operational testing of Lifeboat, Rescue Boat and Liferaft launching appliances, and on-load release gear are carried out in accordance with SOLAS regulation III/20 by service providers authorised by them that are qualified in these operations

To gain the approval, Lloyds British engineers were audited and assessed by Lloyds Register to demonstrate their ability and competency in inspection, testing, and maintaining lifting appliances and life boats under SOLAS requirements.
