Nearshore wireline CPT

Wireline Cone Penetration Testing has proven itself in deep offshore investigations but according to Kim Hodgson, nearshore projects manager at Lankelma (a UK-based wireline CPT specialist), this investigation technology has also been shown to be a viable alternative to traditional top-push techniques for nearshore projects.

Wireline downhole CPT (tool shown emerging from the mousehole in the deck to the right of the photograph) can test highly variable ground more effectively and faster than top-push systems at depths greater than 30m below the seabed
