Safety electronics from ACR
American company ACR Electronics is planning to introduce a range of new equipment at Seawork this year. This equipment features the latest developments in electronic safety equipment to enable workboats to meet the latest regulatory requirements.
The GlobalFix V4 EPIRB is a new professional grade design that features a user-replaceable battery with a 10-year battery life, an internal 66 channel GPS, a four LED array strobe light, and a new wrist strap for hands free carrying in an emergency evacuation. This EPIRB is suitable for harsh environments and the GlobalFIX V4 has a conformal coated circuit board which further protects electronic components. A protective keypad cover helps prevent false activation.
ACR’s fully-approved Pathfinder Pro SART complies with IMO, MED, FCC and IEC standards and it returns the 12 blip signal that can be seen on the radar screen of searching vessel to enhance search and rescue efforts. It has a superior lithium battery which provides over 96 hours of operating life in standby mode and 12 hours of active operating life. The Pathfinder Pro comes with a sleek wall mount for easy accessibility in an emergency.
Also new for 2016, ACR is introducing its LED C-Strobe and C-Strobe H₂0 personal distress strobe lights. The water-activated C-Strobe H₂0 is a multi-function light that combines intense LED technology with increased operating life. This SOLAS approved light features three modes of operation – strobe, steady-on and SOS – and has a 45 lumen LED that operates typically for 120 hours continuously in strobe mode. The C-Strobe H₂0 can be activated with a simple push of the On/Off button or, when in the armed position, can be activated automatically when immersed in water. The C-Strobe offers the same improved operating life and but this unit has to be activated manually.
ACR’s new LED C Light and C Light H₂0 steady-on personal distress lights have a 20 lumen LED that operates typically for 30 hours continuously. The water-activated model includes two activation methods, while the C Light is manually activated. All the ACR personal distress lights are ideal for attaching inside life jackets.
