New Caris software
Canadian software specialist Teledyne Caris has extended its widely-adopted HIPS and SIPS suite of products with introduction of HIPS Essential designed to meet the needs of ports and waterways, small survey companies and same-size hydrographic organisations.
Caris officials say the development is a lightweight subset of the powerful HIPS and SIPS combination and is ideally suited for those organisations and individuals wanting a streamlined package for bathymetry processing. It includes all tools necessary to support both singlebeam and multibeam sonar data including cailibration routines.
Support is also provided for 2D and 3D visualisation and data cleaning while also featuring tools to extract contours, soundings and bathymetric surfaces for downstream product creation. End-to-end processing automation is possible via a new Process Designer, maximising time management and user-reducing subjectivity. The system is readily expandable to meet any growing needs of users and is said to be available at a cost-effective price with lease-to-own-options.
