Another Jack Up for Red7Marine
Probably the largest vessel yet to be formally christened at SeaWork is the jackup barge Haven Seariser 4, delivered to Red7 Marine from the builders Ravestein. The group’s fourth purchase of this type from the Dutch builder helps to underline its position as a leading provider of self-elevating platforms to the marine civils and construction sector.
Haven Seariser 4 is a Standard RCP-250 type jackup measuring 29.3m loa by 17.10m width, with a height of 2.45m and a leg length of 36m. Its payload is 250 tonnes. Its modular construction makes it suitable to be broken down for road transportation but on this occasion it was towed from Rotterdam by MTS Victory.
Ravestein’s standard jackups can be fitted with winches, moonpools, accommodation blocks and workshops to meet clients’ requirements. A larger model the RCP-450 has a leg length of 48m and a payload of 450 tonnes, while the company can offer any type of platform with payloads up to 4,000 tonnes.
Ravestein’s yard at Deest is 95km inland from Rotterdam and since being established in 1976 the company has earned a reputation as manufacturers of large steel constructions from bridges to lock gates, ro-ro linkspans, jetties, pontoons, crane barges and ships. Among their most prominent structures are the bascule section of the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam and the Ijbrug Bridge in Amsterdam. In the UK Ravestein has provided steel caissons for the MoD at Devonport Dockyard, lock gates at Avonmouth, the Gosport Ferry Pontoon Replacement and the linkspan at Purfleet for Cobelfret ferries.
