E P Barrus Ltd’s Special Products Division has been supplying and supporting rescue, commercial and military organisations with custom-built, inboard and outboard marine propulsion and auxiliary power engines for over 80 years. Barrus’ facilities are SOLAS approved. It has a lot of experience of designing, building and approving SOLAS engines and many other customer demanded propulsion solutions.
With the support of its innovative R&D team, Barrus has created patented technologies including the popular PIRS® (Post Immersion Restart System) which restarts an outboard engine after being submerged and is now available in both two-stroke and four-stroke variations and meet the LSA code for fast rescue boats. Barrus is at the forefront of supplying power units to the growing MASS sector. It also has parallel hybrid and electric propulsion solutions.

Barrus’ Marine Equipment business provides a comprehensive range of marine components and accessories - a mix of technical and non-technical products suitable for motor boats, sailing boats and inflatables.
