Boskalis to extend Port of Felixstowe in UK
Dutch dredging contractor Royal Boskalis Westminster has been appointed to extend the harbour at Port of Felixstowe in the UK.
A small trailing suction hopper dredger, a crane vessel and a water injection vessel will be used to remove some 550,000 cu/m of material.The assignment is worth some €70m and the project involves dredging approximately 3m cu/m of material to widen the entrance channel and berths, plus reclamation work involving approximately 3.4m cu/m of sand for a new terminal.
