Boskalis unaffected by Dubai financial crisis

Responding to questions from Maritime Journal, a spokesperson for Dutch dredging major Royal Boskalis Westminster said the company would not be affected by the financial crisis in Dubai.

At the end of November, Dubai Drydocks Group, of which well known developers such as Nakheel are a part, told creditors it needed a six month standstill on debt repayments before meeting financial obligations again. Boskalis said it was not impacted by the crisis in Dubai, and had removed all its orders in Dubai from its orderbook. ‘Dubai is a closed book, and we have not taken any more orders into our orderbook from Dubai since last year’, said the company.
