Buoys looking buoyant
UK-based marine environmental solutions company, Ocean Scientific International Ltd (OSIL), have reported strong global buoy sales, which has seen installations of buoy systems as far afield as South America, the Mediterranean, the North Sea and the Far East, in the last few months alone.
OSIL specialise in providing customised monitoring systems for all applications, and their range of instrumented data buoys are, they claim extremely robust. The buoy hulls are constructed from rotationally moulded polyethylene, which is foam filled for added security, with a galvanised steel central structure, allowing the passage of instrumentation and cables through the water column while offering protection for the instrumentation during deployment and operation.
OSIL’s buoys provide a monitoring platform for a wide assortment of instrumentation and their designs make them suitable for many locations or applications including MetOcean, Dredge, Coastal and Environmental Monitoring. Diameters range from 0.4m to 3.0m, with a wide range of top frame designs.
