Ørsted deploys drones for wind farms

Heavy-lift cargo drones are being used by Danish offshore wind giant Ørsted and its UK-based drone operator Skylift to deliver critical safety evacuation equipment to the nacelles of wind turbines.

The FlyingBasket cargo drones will deliver safety equipment in more than 550 flights to more than 400 turbines some 75 miles from land at the Hornsea 1 and 2 sites on the east coast of England, and Walney 1 and 2 on the west coast.
