IWS Seawalker named 2025 offshore energy vessel of the year
The Construction Service Operation Vessel (CSOV), IWS Seawalker, has been awarded the 2025 Offshore Energy Vessel of the Year at the Annual Offshore Support Journal Conference in London.
The Kongsberg Maritime-designed CSOV was designed and built to set new standards for offshore wind operations, equipped with innovative technology to achieve energy efficiency.

Skywalker Class
IWS Seawalker is part of the Skywalker Class, a new generation of CSOVs built to support offshore renewables with cutting-edge efficiency and reduced emissions.
Designed for windfarm operations, the vessel features a double-ended hull form and permanent magnet (PM) azimuth thrusters, optimising propulsion and maneouvrability.
Kongsberg’s advanced DP system enables automated transit between turbines, maximising operational efficiency.
Eqipped with IMO Tier 3 engines and a 2.2MWh battery pack, IWS Seawalker aims to prioritise sustainability while maintaining top-tier performance in offshore wind service.
The design also enhances crew comfort, ensuring high productivity for extended offshore missions.
