The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) has given Approval in Principle to Seatrium Marine & Deepwater Technology for a Floating Wind Semi-Submersible (FWSS) design.

The design, Seatrium says, is intended to support the new 15MW generation of offshore wind turbines, with pontoons on three sides and a central column that supports the wind turbine. It is optimised for efficient fabrication and cost-effectiveness while being capable of handling harsh environments.
