UK holds fire on carbon taxes for small vessels

The UK is holding off on imposing carbon taxes or other green penalties in the smaller vessel segment until the 2030s, representatives from the Department for Transport (DfT) told members of a decarbonisation event held in London this week.

While the pledge to hold off on implementing green penalties might be a relief to some, as far as the workboat sector goes it just adds to the uncertainty of the sector and makes it impossible to plan.
