WindEurope calls UK’s £1 billion offshore budget ‘disappointing’

Europe’s wind alliance says the UK’s just-announced budget of more than £1 billion (€1.1 billion) for offshore wind falls well short of targets and undermines the outlook for the continent’s industry.

The UK today (28 October) said its initial proposed budget was £900 million for fixed-bottom projects and £180 million for floating wind, which would translate into 5-6GW of generation capacity.
