EPropulsion takes technology down under
Seawork exhibitor ePropulsion has expanded into Australia after striking a partnership with Australia-based Power Equipment.
Power Equipment is an independent engine distributor in the marine and industrial sectors, and while CEO Luke Foster acknowledged that Australia was still ’a traditional boating market, with minimal regulatory push toward electrification’, he also said the move would increase exposure to newer technologies.
“Australia is a market on the cusp of change when it comes to electric power adoption, and we aim to answer the growing demand with our game-changing products,” said ePropulsion co-founder and CEO Danny Tao. “As one of the leading global electric propulsion brands, we rely on key partners like Power Equipment to bring awareness to our eco-friendly options in the boating landscape.”
ePropulsion, which is based in China but has branches across the world, offers complete electric solutions for the marine market from outboards to inboards. With power options ranging from 500W to 250kW.
The outboard is a new product from ePropulsion, which first exhibited at Seawork in 2023 with its I-Series inboards for workboats.
The inboards are compact units typically 50-60% smaller and lighter than the equivalent diesel engine counterparts, which improves hull and propulsion efficiency, as well as saving space.
