A new class of lifeboats will have Seawork exhibitor DuroWipers’ marine wipers installed, the company says.
The first-in-class 14m ’Medina Class’ lifeboat is being built by Diverse Marine for the Caister Volunteer Lifeboat Service and will be fitted out with the Class 50 pantographs, which are the smallest in the DuroWipers range.
Designed by Walker Marine Design, the boat is self righting and features an aluminium hull, deck and coach roof. Powered by Scania and with propulsion from Hamiton Jet, the seating will be supplied by AllSalt Maritime, and the communications by Boat Electrics and Electronics.
The vessel is in build at Cowes, on the Isle of Wight, and will be delivered later this year,
DuroWipers says its wiper orders have grown exponentially in recent years, thanks to a design that lengthens the life of wipers and reduces maintenance costs, it says.
