Wescom’s new bridge-mounted MOB system
Wescom Group has launched a new 121.5 MHz bridge-mounted sMRT Digital SARfinder, designed to work seamlessly alongside its range of commercial distress beacons.
Because the unit works in conjunction with the sMRT AU and V300 range of AIS, DSC, 121.5 MHz units, Wescom said it now provides a complete man overboard alert and tracking solution for localised rescue.

Complete MOB solution
As the sMRT AU and V300 range of AIS, DSC, 121.5 MHz units work in conjunction with the sMRT SARfinder, Wescom said it now provides a complete man overboard alert and tracking solution for localised rescue.
The sMRT SARfinder has a digital screen that will detect, display and track the location of multiple 121.5 MHz signals to aid man overboard recovery within a five-mile range .
An audible alarm is emitted as soon as the beacon is activated and a direction and distance are displayed to help locate the man-overboard.
The touchscreen display allows users to easily interact with the unit, with the MOB locations clearly identifiable with drift direction data.
Wescom offers a new range of intrinsically safe, approved zone 1 and zone 2, class M compliant beacons with the sMRT V300 X1 and V300 X2, offering all the award winning, user friendly functionality of the sMRT range.
The sMRT team will be displaying their complete range of safety solutions on stand number SB46 at Seawork from 10 to June 2025.
