First successful trials of new JRC radar JMR-5400 in the Spanish market
Bridge integrator Alphatron Marine and JRC are pleased to announce the first trials with the new JRC radar JMR-5400 in the Spanish market. The trials took place onboard fishing vessel ‘Novo Alborada’, a 40-metre bottom trawler with port base in Vigo, Spain.
Supply and installation of the radar were provided by Alphatron Marine Iberia dealer Hidronav, also based in Vigo.
The model tested for the trials was the JMR-5425-7 featuring JRC’s newly designed 25kW scanner. The fishing ground of the fishing vessel is the stormy area Gran Sol, north of the Bay of Biscay and south of the British Isles. This high power scanner was selected as the skipper required to track and discriminate other fishing vessels with the longest detection capability possible. And with the system running on the latest JRC-designed signal processing technology, it allowed the radar images to effortlessly run faster and more efficiently than ever before.
JRC has reported that ’Skipper and dealers onboard were so enthusiastic about the high-quality image of the radar and the sharpness of the port contour that we are proud to announce the first orders have been confirmed.’
