French yard launches first SeaFox
NAVALU shipyard has recently launched the offshore windfarm catamaran SeaFox, the first aluminium Offshore Wind Farm Service Vessel built in France with Bureau Veritas approval.
Built for UK operator Enviroserve of Lowestoft, the catamaran measures 24m LOA with a beam of 9.9m and 1.75m draft. It will carry up to 12 technicians and 12 tons cargo simultaneously to offshore windfarms, powered by four main engines rated at 600 hp each.
Initial sea trials validated the waterlines and demonstrated high speed performance in excess of 24 knots at 90% whilst also showing outstanding seakeeping in difficult conditions.
NAVALU was thus proud to have met the main initial requirements expected by the customer in delivering the model type NxS 24 catamaran.
