Chelmsford UK based ECDIS Ltd, the specialist ECDIS training concern which last autumn concluded an agreement with PC Maritime of Plymouth, has extended its services to Sweden following signing of a partnership agreement with Adveto of Stockholm.
Under the agreement, whenever an Adveto ECDIS facility is sold, the UK company will ensure its correct and safe usage. ‘We can offer Adveto customers our state approved training course at a time when the IMO has decided to make ECDIS carriage mandatory’, said ECDIS Ltd’s director of operations, Malcolm Instone.
Responding, Adveto marketing manager Magnus Karlsson, said that besides providing customers with the highest possibe standards of portable training in a non-biased way, ECDIS Ltd would also act as a retail partner to advise prospective customers on the most cost-effective, type approved systems available.
Known in electronic navigation since the mid-1980s, Adveto has its systems in widespread global service aboard work and tow boats, ferries, pilot boats, training ships and ocean crossing cruise liners. Among many institutional users are national maritime institutions in Denmark, Norway and Sweden as well as comparable organisations in Argentina, Poland and Spain. The company has recently expanded its activities with agreements covering Alaska, the US West Coast and India.
