Danish maritime survey software and equipment maker CEO Jeppe Nielsen is stepping down on medical grounds.
He will be replaced in the short term by Flemming Hjorth, who is president of Business Development, as Acting CEO while the board seeks a permanent successor.
Nielsen has been at the helm for 12 years, and is credited with overseeing the transformation of the business from a small team of fewer than 30 people to a leading software company that now supports offshore activities in renewables, defence and ocean sciences.
He also led the company through a sale in 2019 after which EIVA was integrated into the offshore and marine engineering group Covelya.
Despite the medical grounds that have necessitated Nielsen’s departure as full-time CEO, he will remain in a part-time advisory role and also join the board.
