NAVTOR to equip 40 vessels with navigation tools

The two companies say the collaboration will strengthen NAVTOR’s presence in the German market, a key one for the company as it continues to develop smart solutions for a ‘digital maritime future’.

NAVTOR will supply advanced route planning and digital chart management, such as its NavStation software, which includes access to digital navigational information as well as official ENC charts.

It has also developed systems to calculate FuelEU Maritime and EU ETS penalties, which as yet are levied on 5,000GT vessels but are in the pipeline for smaller vessels, almost certainly for those above 400 tonnes in weight.

NSB Group, which has a fleet of 50 ships, is headquartered in Buxtehude, Germany and has offices in Singapore, the Philippines, Korea and China.
