Summit urges leaders to save offshore wind

Marine contractors and manufacturers desperate to take advantage of the potential from offshore wind have called for major investment by governments at a recent summit in Belgium. 

At the North Sea Summit at the end of April, dozens of stakeholders including the biggest marine contractors and energy firms urged governments to dig deep and find the cash to keep the offshore wind industry going.

“It is very worrying that not a single investment decision was taken in any offshore wind farm in Europe in 2022,” said one of the 10 points made in a joint declaration issued at the summit.
