UK ETS warning: smaller vessels will be not be immune

The UK government has released an interim response to a consultation it sent out in November 2024 on the expansion of its Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) in maritime.

While the scope expansion only applies to vessels over 5,000GT, therefore has little relevance to the workboat sector now, the wording in two sections is a warning to smaller vessel operators that sooner or later, it will affect them too.
