Italdraghe delivers CSD to Iraq

Italy-based manufacturer Italdraghe SpA has delivered the first of three SGT 400 cutter suction dredgers to the Iraqi Ministry of Water Resources.

The Italian designed and produced dredger is now operative in Iraq. It is capable of working at a depth of 10m with a suction diameter of 450mm and a discharge pipe diameter of 400mm.

The main dredging pump engine is an Isotta Fraschini type delivering 1,000 hp at 1,800 rpm. The auxiliary engine is a FTP Iveco Motors type C90, producing 350 hp at 2,000 rpm.

The dredger has a crown type cutter, swing winches with six tonnes pull, and is fitted with anchor booms and a spud carriage.

On board equipment includes a harbour genset rated at 30 kW, aDGPS positioning system with an integrated project monitoring programme, and a production measuring system.
