ABB announces plans to buy marine automation firm

Swiss industrial technology company ABB will buy the Norwegian marine automation firm Høglund in a move designed to ‘complement ABB’s existing automation offering to marine customers and support further growth in markets across a wide range of vessel segments’.

The sale is due to complete in Q3 this year, so will be fairly imminent. On completion, Høglund will be integrated into ABB’s Marine & Ports division.
