Latest HVAC technology for commercial vessels
HVAC specialist Dometic is demonstrating its capabilities for incorporating the latest variable speed chiller technology, titanium condensers, chilled water and air-cooled units within its customised systems for commercial vessels, as well as focusing on its high-performance reverse-osmosis watermakers and new coolbox models at this year’s Seawork International.
The industry-leading Dometic Titan Chiller with titanium tube condenser represents a forward-thinking trend in the sector to harness the benefits of industrial-grade titanium – a design feature set to shape the way chillers are designed and manufactured in the years ahead. Meeting the most stringent requirements for commercial and military vessels, the Titan Chiller is setting the standard for corrosion-resistant design to provide peace of mind for commercial operators that their chiller system is robust and long-lasting.
With variable capacity technology in demand from customers seeking the most efficient, cost-effective systems, Dometic also leads the way in this field with the development of the VARC variable capacity chiller, the first chiller of its kind to adjust capacity output based on the current load demand. It is now available in two models, the VARC48 and VARC72, and is ideal for workboats and other commercial vessels to provide just the right amount of necessary cooling or heating, reducing energy consumption and harsh in-rush currents to the boat’s generator.
The Dometic stand at Seawork will also feature its high-capacity reverse-osmosis Sea Xchange watermaker range, including the combination XZ Series, the XTC Series with mechanical redundancy and powerful SXII Series of seawater systems. All the watermakers are easy to use and maintain, and feature a modular-frame design for simple installation in limited spaces.
New at this year’s show, Dometic will showcase the latest addition to its advanced range of powerful CFX Series compressor coolers. The heavy-duty CoolFreeze CFX 75DZW mobile compressor unit is a strong and robust 70-litre capacity cooler and freezer offering even more flexible cooling and deep-freezing options when storing food and drink on-board. It has two temperature zones with their own digital displays, one of 43-litre capacity and one of 27 litres, so users can choose to have a fridge and a freezer, or two fridges or two freezers.
