Shetland Islands Council to dredge Scalloway Harbour
The Shetland Islands Council is to invest £3m this year in dredging Scalloway Harbour. The work will create a channel 8.5m deep by 100m wide, and straighten the approaches into the harbour. The harbour board had originally hoped to dredge to 9.5m, but this was deemed too expensive.
