The Port of Hamburg’s Waltershofer Hafen is set to undergo a €1.1 billion expansion as part of a long-term strategy to strengthen the port’s role as a key European logistics hub

The Hamburg Port Authority announced plans to enhance the Elbe approach and create additional terminal yards to streamline access to the Container Terminals Buchardkai and Container Terminal Hamburg.

The turning basin will be widened from 480 to 600 metres, improving navigational safety and enabling faster, more efficient vessel manoeuvres.
