World largest cable-layer for £20 billion subsea project

Designs have been completed for the world’s largest cable-laying vessel, which will lay 3,800km of subsea cable to fire up the UK grid.

XLCC will build up to three cable factories as well as the vessel to get the project, which has attracted investment from energy firm Octopus and the Abu Dhabi National Power company TAQA, completed.
