Profile: The transport and placement of 1000 tonnes of shingle on an existing ridge on Long Island in Langstone Harbour for the benefit of breeding and roosting shorebirds and seabirds. The enhanced shingle ridge will be approx. 150m in length and backed by a brushwood fence on its western side. These works are being carried out as part of our LIFE on the edge Project, LIFE/UK/964.
