New Space Efficient Free Fall Lifeboat
Aberdeen UK based Survival Craft Inspectorate Ltd has introduced the new SC59FF free fall lifeboat as a cost effective safety system for cargo ships, tankers and offshore platforms. By optimising the interior layout of the new 5.9m lifeboat, SCIs designers have achieved an exceptional 25 passengers carrying capacity.
The SC59FF exceeds SOLAS regulations and its passenger capacity should generate significant cost savings on large installations as the craft occupies the same deck space as lifeboats that only carry 22 people.
Constructed throughout from corrosion resistant materials, the hull and canopy of the new 5.9m lifeboat are moulded from GRP. The SC59FF is launched and recovered using a hydraulic ramp and is capable of providing its occupants with a rapid escape from heights up to 13m.
The fire protected version of the SC59FF is equipped with an external water spray and an internal compressed air supply which provide high level protection for tanker and oil platform crews. The new lifeboat also incorporates integral buoyancy that ensures it is fully self-righting even if significantly damaged. The boat is fitted with a proven 25hp diesel engine equipped with twin electric starters to ensure dependability.
Confidence in its new product enables Survival Craft Inspectorate to deliver the SC59FF lifeboat with a five year warranty.
