Maersk training first

Maersk Training has become the first Global Wind Organisation certified training centre in the world to deliver the new Basic Maintenance Training (BMT).

Following the release of the Basic Maintenance Training Standard by the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) on 4 July 2016, DNV-GL has certified Maersk Training in Esbjerg as the first organisation to conduct all three modules in the new standard.

The Basic Maintenance Training standard is targeted at candidates with no previous experience of these systems but may also up-skill candidates who are not trained specifically in wind turbines.

The objective of the standard is to develop common industry training and Best Practice Standards for the basic technical and safety skills required for the service and maintenance of wind turbine generators across Europe and the globe.

Maersk Training provides safety training for the maritime, oil & gas and wind power industries.

The new Basic Maintenance Training modules will soon also be available at Maersk Training’s centre in Newcastle, UK.
