Seahaven Maritime Academy launched
A new training establishment has opened its doors in East Sussex, UK. Seahaven Maritime Academy, based in Newhaven docks, is a privately owned and run business with the emphasis on personal service. It’s the brainchild of Steve Brand, CEO and chief instructor who, after a lifetime at sea, much of it as an instructor and examiner, saw a need for more student focused training.
“I frequently meet students who comment on the fact that they are required to attend more and more courses to obtain certificates, said Steve. “Those that aren’t sponsored by their employer complain about the not inconsiderable costs involved to themselves, and feel they are often treated like commodities rather than individuals. We specialise in focusing on the individual. We have a maximum of eight students to a course and our prices are kept to a minimum, making us highly competitive.”
The training establishment is also offering MCA oral exam preps for Master 200, 500 and 3000 Certificates of Competence, and is currently in the process of getting accreditation to run courses for the UK National Workboat Association training scheme.
